Karo (Pittosoporum crassifolium) is a popular native tree which is suitable as a hedge or in a mixed planting. It is a robust tree which seems to thrive in a multitude of situations. It does well in coastal areas and with its tough grey – green leaves can withstand salty winds. Likes the full sun.

It has the advantage that it can be clipped as a hedge and is more tolerant of pruning than other Pittosporum species

It has dark red flowers in spring which have a slight scent.

Will grow to a height of 3 – 6m and a width of 4m
