The growth time recommendations are based on New Zealand temperature ranges in the Auckland region where summer day temperatures average around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius and winter day temperatures range from 5 to 15 degrees. There might be anywhere from zero to 10 frosts in any average year in the Auckland region during winter.
